Antalya Turkey

Antalya is one of Turkeys most popular resorts, located above steep cliffs on Turkeys Mediterranean coast and with a backdrop of mountains. The city of Antalya has been of Turkey's tourist hotspots since the 1970's, it conveniently has its own airport and has a superb palm tree lined boulevards and a spectacular marina. The town has many modern buildings, but explore and you will find older historical areas such as Kaleiçi enclosed by the ancient city walls which is unspoilt and retains it's Turkish atmosphere and charm, a great place for an evening stroll as no cars are permitted in this area. Not far from Antalya old town is the lovely harbour area Antalya is a great base for exploring the rest of the coast and many important archaeological sites are close by.

You have to travel a little for the beach at Lara which is approximately 12 kms away to the east of Antalya, but it's well worth the trip, as it it famed for it's long stretch of golden sand and clear waters, and if you prefer your hotel accommodation nearer the beach there are good hotels available in this area such as the Lara beach hotel which offers five star all inclusive accommodation set in landscaped gardens, with many rooms having a wonderful sea view. Lara which is fast becoming a popular resort and destination for visitors in it's own right has plenty to offer for a superb relaxing Turkish holiday in the sun.

There is a good range of accommodation on offer to suit all budgets and tastes. If you are looking for five star accommodation and facilities, there are many good hotels which are perched high on top of the cliffs, with there modern rooms having spectacular views out across the Mediterranean sea. There are also plenty of smaller superb family run hotels and private villas and apartments for rent.
