Calis Beach Turkey

Take the water taxi over from Fethiye harbour and after a 20 minute boat ride you will reach the beach resort of Calis.

The promenade at Calis runs for approximately 2 miles there is a narrow strip of shingle beach on one side and an excellent selection of bars and restaurants on the other. A wonderful place to head for in the evening after a hard days sunbathing as Calis is famous for its spectacular sunsets, all the waterfront restaurants and bars have fantastic views out across the sea to the islands beyond. There is a good variety of cuisine on offer in Calis ranging from traditional Turkish dishes to Chinese, Indian and Italian.

Accommodation in Calis is of a good standard and offers good value for money, with some of the hotels set just back from the promenade offering excellent panoramic views. Alternatively for those wishing to go self catering there are plenty of apartments and private villas for rent.

During the day there are plenty of sun lounges for hire on the main beach and for those who are more adventurous there is a windsurfing school located around quarter of a mile past the end of the Calis promenade. Due to the reliable on shore breeze Calis is now becoming popular for the relatively new sport of kite surfing
