Kaya Village Turkey

Follow the winding road out of Fethiye up the mountain side and through the pine forest and you will come to the tranquil Kaya valley. The valley is surrounded by the mountains of the Fethiye peninsular; this is the perfect spot to get away from the bustle and day time heat of Fethiye in the summer months. Kaya is an unspoilt farming community, with no modern development. There are some lovely restaurants and bars which have been converted from some of Kayas old rural buildings. The famous 'Ghost Village' is also well worth a visit, built by the Greeks it was abandoned in 1926 having been a thriving farming community for centuries. Kaya is a great place to stay if you just want to totally relax, there are some wonderful walks and also horse riding can be arranged locally. Kaya in the evening is fantastic, the air is cool and fresh and the star filled sky clear and the atmosphere is relaxed, no discos or noisy bars, just cosy quiet restaurants serving fabulous food.

Accommodation Kaya

The accommodation on offer in Kaya in is unique, there are no large hotels but accommodation is available in converted cottages, many have received heritage awards from the Turkish Ministry of Tourism for the careful restoration that has taken place.

Property for Sale Kaya Valley

Occasionally property does come on the market, which are either old ruins for resort ion or fully restored cottages, prices tend to be quite a lot higher than in nearby Fethiye, Ovacik or Hisaronu due to scarcity and this unique and tranquil location.
